For renters, profiters dominance means higher rents and fewer chances to buy. Families are outbid by cash offers from corporate and wealthy individuals, leaving them trapped on the financial treadmill of the rental cycle. Even when renters could afford a mortgage, they are denied ownership because investors inflate home values beyond reach.
